MOVE Pain Care Infection Control Protocols

Please find a synopsis of MOVE Pain Care’s Infection Control Protocols.

The Building

  • Please wear a mask when entering the building as it is a publically shared indoor space.
  • Sanitization stations are available on the hallway walls.
  • Two-person maximum in the elevator at any one time.

The Clinic

  • A maximum of two people in the waiting room at one time (excluding the receptionist).
    • Chairs have been removed, and those remaining are physically distanced.
    • Reception is covered by plexiglass.
  • The door will remain open while therapists are present.
    • To increase air exchange.
    • To limit the need for touching the door.
  • Masks are mandatory for all persons entering and within the clinic.
    • If you are unable to wear a mask for medical reasons, please discuss it with your therapist before the appointment.
  • A hand sanitizing station is available on entry to the clinic.
  • Regular cleaning (general) and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces.
  • Access to washroom
    • Note: the washroom is communal and accessed by staff and clients from other offices on the 2nd floor. Though it is regularly cleaned and monitored it is not part of the clinic’s infection control protocols.
    • Two-person maximum at any one time is requested.

The Treatment Room

  • Masks are mandatory for both therapist and client.
    • If you are unable to wear a mask for medical reasons, please discuss it with your therapist before the appointment.
    • Masks will be made available if needed.
  • A hand sanitizing station is available on entry to the room.
  • All porous items that cannot be cleaned and disinfected have been removed.
  • Pillows have either been covered with a vinyl cover or replaced
  • Monica’s room has a Hepa Filter Air Purifier.
  • The room door is opened between clients for 20 to 30 minutes to facilitate air exchange.
  • Surfaces are cleaned (soap and water) and disinfected (wipes or spray) between clients.

The Therapist Will:

  • Wear a Level 1 to 3 surgical or procedural mask at all times.
  • Wash her hands between clients, and will visibly sanitize her hands before treatment.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces between clients.
  • Conduct and record a COVID-19 screen on themselves at the beginning of each day.
